Stained Glass – Not Just for Windows and Doors

Stained Glass – Not Just for Windows and Doors

We are always surprised and delighted by the imagination and originality of our clients. Lately, along with stained glass bay windows, church windows, and every other imaginable kind of windows, we have been working on some other exciting projects.

For one client, we created an absolutely stunning fireplace screen. Yes, it’s mainly decorative, but oh, how decorative it is!

Of course, stained glass with either colors or clear textures would be fantastic as a freestanding screen that could be used as a room divider. One of the problems with standing screens is they block the light, making the room look smaller and more closed in. With a stained glass screen, you could create the division and privacy you need while still letting the sun shine through. The room would still feel open and spacious.

Another of our clients had us install a stained glass panel in a piano top! Can you imagine what a unique focal point this creates in his living room? Every guest will be making a beeline for it; there will never be a lack of what to talk about at his parties!

Another client commissioned us to make several large stained glass lamps, using beautiful hand blown glass and copper caming, the same caming that was used by the great lamp maker Tiffany. These lamps are not made up of tiny pieces forming a mosaic design like Tiffany lamps, but rather larger slabs that show off the beauty of the glass itself.

Custom Stained Glass As Art!

Many of our clients consider our custom, hand built stained glass to be fine art. (As do we!) Sometimes they commission a hanging panel, to be hung in a larger window or even on a wall. By the way, this is a fantastic option if you’d love stained glass in a window, but the square footage of the window makes the price too high. By hanging a separate, smaller panel in the window, you get the same look at a price you can afford. And it’s so easy to take the panel with you when you move. (By the way, even if your stained glass is installed in a window or door, we are available to remove it if you do sell your house or move elsewhere.)

One of the things we enjoy most is working with our clients and fulfilling their dreams, large or small. If you have a unique idea for stained glass, we’d love to hear it. It’s fantastic to know that even after more than twenty years in business, we can still be surprised and there are uses for custom stained glass we have never considered.

Or perhaps our ideas have got your imagination in motion? If you’ve always wanted to add the richness and beauty of stained glass to your home (or office, or store, or anywhere) perhaps taking a leisurely stroll through our design galleries will make your day.

Contact us at Stained Glass Dallas today and set those dreams into motion. We look forward to collaborating with you on a stained glass masterpiece of your very own.
